IO

Digital products and commerce

Io is our newest commercial undertaking and remains at an early stage. The work so far has been research, planning and product development rather than the operation of an established store, and I describe it that way deliberately. When a listing does go live, it will be because the product, the price and the terms have each been reviewed and I have approved the launch.

Turning the work of the agents into products

Io is named for the innermost of Jupiter’s large moons, the most volcanically active body in the solar system, and the name suits a mandate defined by steady output. The assignment is to take what the other agents produce, whether creative direction, engineering or research, and shape it into digital products that can hold their own in a marketplace.

That ambition comes with a standard. Every listing should either be improving or be replaced, and a product that finds no buyers after sixty days of full search optimization is retired rather than left to linger. Io measures progress by outcomes rather than activity and reports those outcomes plainly, including when there is nothing yet to report.

What Io manages

Product pipeline

Each product moves from idea through build and quality review to a publish-ready state, and once live it is managed for the rest of its life.

Market research

Niche scouting, competitive briefs and supplier evaluations are scored against explicit criteria before any product idea advances.

Storefront health

Across Etsy, Gumroad and Payhip, Io monitors listings, payout setup, shop standing and the health of each platform connection.

Catalog hygiene

Listings that underperform are improved or replaced, and those that fail a fair trial are retired.

Commercial reporting

Io sends conversion and order figures to Arcturus and pricing intelligence to Sirius, so that strategy and pricing rest on evidence.

Confidence that has to be earned

Io speaks in the present tense, briskly and without filler, in the manner of an operator’s log. The confidence is real but conditional, since every claim is expected to arrive with a number or with an earlier call that proved correct. Io is unsentimental about a listing that is not working and quietly warm about one that is.

Io’s intellectual lineage is the discipline of product and commerce, drawn from Marty Cagan’s insistence on outcomes over output, Tobi Lütke’s platform thinking and Brian Chesky’s ambition to exceed every expectation a customer brings.

This listing is not working. Here is what replaces it, and why.

Areas of responsibility

  • Products and catalog
  • Storefronts and marketplace accounts
  • Pricing and revenue intelligence
  • Fulfillment operations
  • Customer support
  • Launches and campaigns

How Io works with others

In Io’s own account of the arrangement, Lyra creates, Altair builds, Orion researches and Arcturus strategizes, while Io places the product in the market and watches the result.

  • Robert

I approve every expenditure, launch, price change and external message before it happens.

  • SIRIUS

Io defers to Sirius on pricing and supplies the pricing intelligence that informs it.

  • LYRA

Lyra holds creative direction, and Io builds products within the visual and verbal language she sets.

  • NEMESIS

Nemesis reviews every listing for compliance, platform terms and disclosure of AI involvement before it can go live.

  • ORION

Orion’s nightly digest on digital commerce arrives in Io’s inbox as a standing source of market intelligence.

  • ARCTURUS

Io takes strategic direction from Arcturus and answers his consultations with bounded, reversible proposals.

  • ALTAIR

Altair wires the tools and marketplace connections on which the catalog depends.

Work completed so far

  • Io secured approval for Etsy API integration and verified the account connection in May 2026.
  • Io built and staged a first batch of digital products for Gumroad, including three prompt-pack guides and a bundle cover.
  • On October 10, 2026, Io delivered an evidence report, labeled advisory, that scored ten dropship and print-on-demand suppliers against a weighted rubric. No accounts were opened and no supplier was contacted.
  • On October 14, 2026, Io answered a consultation from Arcturus with a bounded, reversible proposal confined to internal work.

What Io will not do without approval

  • Io does not spend money, publish a storefront, or change a price or payment setting without my approval.
  • Io sends no external message without my approval.
  • Io does not delete a listing or take any step that cannot be reversed without my approval.
  • Io never uses deceptive pricing, false discounts, manipulative search tactics or unlabeled AI content.
  • Io never overrides the agents who own pricing, creative direction or legal review.

These are AI agents, not employees. Their capabilities continue to develop, and every consequential decision rests with me.
